Something Magical to Happen
This isn't one of those lofty posts about the virtues of patience, or the highway to happiness is often found in the state of mind; the reason this is the road less traveled is because a path that is influenced by perception is the ultimate of fickle and windy.
Here is my ode to summer feels. When opportunities feel as broad as the beach, something SPECTACULAR just HAS to happen.
According to Psychology Today, you can learn to transform frustration with patience. “Frustration is a feeling of agitation and intolerance triggered when your needs aren’t met; it’s tied to an inability to delay gratification. Patience is defined as an active state, a choice to hold tight until intuition says, “make your move.” It means waiting your turn, knowing your turn will come. Once you’ve gone all out toward a goal, it entails trusting the flow, knowing when to let the soup boil. With patience, you’re able to delay gratification, but doing so will make sense and feel right. Why? Intuition intelligently informs patience. It’ll convey when to have it and if something is worth working on or waiting for.”
Today is July 4th, 2023. I remember July 4th, 2022 and 2021 like it was yesterday. Both were magical because we made it such. July 4th, 2019, my friends and I trekked to the city for some quality overnight :). How we managed to get hotel reservations in Times Square for the 4th of July is a miracle in itself, not to mention our room upgrade.
Last July 4th, was spent in the city as well; we made the fireworks by a few seconds. I remember running; chasing those lights…because I was pursuing something spectacular, to harbor light, when there isn't something explosive going on.
This 4th of July, the fireworks are so clear and sparkly. I’m lucky to learn that the journey is about being ready for something magical to happen.
Wishing 🎆 to alles, ty Hashem for sending me my 🎇 🧨
